How Haven Life Plus makes summer vacations less hard for families
Family vacations can be their own kind of work. There may be screaming. There may be tears. There will certainly be meltdowns.
And don’t get us started on the kids.
Ok, we joke (kinda), but still, relaxing can be stressful. Plans must be negotiated and made. Transportation must be booked. Pets must be dealt with. And while it’s beautiful to watch your children discover new things and places (especially after the last couple of years), it’s not without its challenges — medical mishaps, disrupted sleep cycles and a lack of quiet time. (For them and for you.)
But the Haven Life Plus rider can help. Our suite of partner services, available at no cost for eligible Haven Term policyholders, can make summer family vacation less hard, which is another way of saying “more fun.” Here’s how.
In this article:
It can help keep you healthy
MinuteClinic is a no-appointment-needed medical clinic inside Target and CVS, which can help you both before and during your summer vacation. Better yet, eligible Haven Life customers enjoy discounts through Haven Life Plus.
Before your trip: Take advantage of walk-in vaccinations for you and the family (including oft-overlooked inoculations like tetanus). While you’re there, get yourself a health screening to make sure you’re ready for whatever physical activities you’ve planned for your vacation. (Going rafting after two years of being at home? Maybe check if that’s OK).
During your trip: If you’re holidaying with your kids in the US and one of them acquires bumps, scrapes or a mild virus (as kids tend to do), it’s not like you can just take them to your usual (and now faraway) doctor. But you can drop into the local Minuteclinic and get their needs addressed quickly.

It can help you sleep
Although the Timeshifter app (available at no-cost to eligible Haven Term policyholders) is built with NASA-backed science, its main function is helping people here on planet Earth deal with jetlag. If there’s one thing that makes family vacation less hard, especially with young kids, it’s getting enough rest. Timeshifter helps you optimize your sleep ahead of time, whether you’re flying across multiple time zones or just staying on your in-laws’ lumpy couch, by giving you suggested bedtimes and wake-up times, based on the time zone where you’ll ultimately be visiting. It cannot, however, answer your children’s repeated queries as to whether you are, in fact, “there yet.”
It can help keep your files in order
Hopefully you won’t have to deal with any emergencies, medical matters or anything else that might require documents while you’re away, but what if you do? Wouldn’t it be useful if you could take your important documents with you when you travel, without having to bring them in physical form? Well now you can, with Lifesite, the digital vault that is available at no cost to eligible Haven Life customers.
Think of Lifesite as a giant, secure digital filing cabinet that you can access from anywhere via your phone. You can fill it with everything from insurance documents (useful if anything happens to your house while you’re out of town); to medical records (in case anything happens to you and yours while you’re away); to passwords for streaming services (for when you need to get your kids to be quiet by any means necessary).

It can help you stay fit
Just because you want to take time off from work, doesn’t mean you want time off from working out. But it’s not like you can take the gym with you… can you?
With Aaptiv, the exercise app that comes at no cost for eligible Haven Life customers, the answer is “pretty much.” While Aaptiv won’t literally send an elliptical machine to wherever you happen to be vacationing, it will provide you with a truly vast array of different workouts that you can do wherever you are — inside, outside, hotel room (or gym), wide open space. There are even workouts you can do with the whole family (as well as other, solo routines that give you an excuse to get away from said family for a little while).
It can help you find peace of mind
You’ll want to use these two services before, not during, your vacation. The first, Trust & Will, allows you to make a legally binding will (or trust) online in minutes. The second, Lantern, enables you to document your end-of-life and funeral wishes in as much detail as you like. Both are available at (say it with us): no cost to eligible Haven Life customers.
You may wonder how all this makes summer vacation less hard for you and your family. Simple: It’ll reduce stress and help you to actually relax during your travels. Family vacation should be fun and it might even be relaxing, but only if you don’t have nagging worries at the back of your mind. And, yes, if the weather cooperates.

From start to finish I had no problem navigating my way through the questions. Not sure if I will keep my current rate or lower it late but glad I have the option.
Fast and easy. Received my policy hassled free.
Put your mind at ease, hands down the easiest process and best in value compared to other companies.
The insurance application process with Haven Life was seamless. I applied online on 3/8 and received a call within about 24 hours to schedule the paramedical exam. The appt set for 4/2, due to my schedule (requested a Saturday appt). The nurse came to my home, exam took about 15 minutes (verify my info, BP check in both arms, blood drawn, urine collection). Those results were available on 4/8. I received a few follow up questions 2 days later regarding prior prescriptions and medical tests from the underwriter. Answered those promptly, and my policy was approved on 4/20. Overall process was less than 30 days, excluding the wait time for the paramedical exam, which was due to my scheduling.
The process was easy, secure, and it’s an affordable. Also, it’s good to have a policy with a trusted brand.
