Arch Insurance Canada has significantly emphasized its employee experience, recognizing its workforce as “internal customers.”

This focus on enhancing employee experience has allowed Arch to earn a spot among the Top Insurance Employers recognized by Insurance Business Canada in 2023.

According to Jean-Pierre Galipeault, president and chief regional executive, he is committed to making decisions through the lens of employees’ experience.

“When you make decisions through that lens, and employees can share their thoughts honestly, I think it leads to overwhelmingly positive outcomes,” he said.

One respondent lauded the company for its effective communication channels and accessibility to senior leadership.

Another spoke of Arch’s commitment to community and teamwork, which is evident, citing how the company provides opportunities for collaboration across different business units.

Several employees also expressed appreciation for Arch’s benefits program, which includes a diversity and inclusion employee network, retirement matching, and educational assistance.

“We’re being thoughtful and intentional about ensuring everyone has what they need to do the best they can in their current role and, for those aspiring to do more, ensuring that we help them achieve their goals,” said Galipeault.

In addition to its benefits package, Arch has its ‘Year of You’ program to encourage employees to take ownership of their professional development. The program involves having employees dedicate 30 minutes each month to assess their strengths, skill sets, and knowledge.
