Home insurance company Hippo has announced the appointment of Peter Piotrowski as chief claims officer.

Piotrowski, who previously served as chief claims officer at Vault for the past six years and held executive roles at The Hanover Insurance Group, AIG, and Chubb, will now lead the claims division at Hippo Insurance Services.

With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Piotrowski will be responsible for overseeing Hippo’s claims services. He will report directly to Chris Donahue, chief underwriting officer at Hippo.

“Peter has built his career on an award-winning, customer-centric approach,” Donahue said. “He’s led multiple teams recognized for delivering an exceptional customer experience, providing some of the highest levels of service in the industry, and making it easy for customers to resolve even the most complex claims.”

“Hippo’s vision of preventing and minimizing losses resonated with me,” Piotrowski said. “It provides the opportunity to enhance the customer experience by protecting our customers’ most important financial asset and supporting them when they need us most.”

Hippo, a provider of smart home insurance powered by real-time data, launched in 2017. Hippo subsidiaries include Hippo Insurance Services, Hippo Home Care, First Connect Insurance Services, Spinnaker Insurance Company, Spinnaker Specialty Insurance Company, and Mainsail Insurance Company.
