Highstreet Insurance Partners (HSIP) has announced its acquisition of HG Ellis Agency, based in Camden, New York.

The acquisition expands Highstreet’s footprint in the Northeast region, adding three additional locations and 11 employees to the company. HG Ellis Agency brings extensive experience in both business and personal insurance to Highstreet’s portfolio.

James Hutchinson (pictured above), Northeast Regional president and chief marketing officer at Highstreet, will oversee the integration of Ellis into the company’s operations in the region. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan, Highstreet Insurance Partners is a full-service independent insurance agency. HSIP offers a wide range of insurance solutions, including business insurance, employee benefits, personal insurance, retirement services, and specialty risk solutions.

In other acquisitions for HSIP, the firm recently announced its acquisition of Mitchell Agency, Inc, a Largo, Fla.-based business and personal insurance provider.

The deal added another location and eight employees to Highstreet’s Gulf region operations under the leadership of Gulf regional president Vin Stazzone.

In August, the company also expanded its employee benefits capability by partnering with Wingert Insurance Agency for an undisclosed sum.

Wingert, based in Mill Creek, Washington, specializes in offering employee benefits as well as property & casualty insurance services.

President Shelley Wingert and vice president Jason Wingert maintained their leadership roles, continuing to manage operations from their existing office with the backing of Highstreet’s West regional president Brian Clifford.

“With their expansive markets and teams, we are thrilled with the opportunity presented to bring greater choice to our clients and prospects.”

Meanwhile, Clifford added: “Wingert’s expertise in employee benefits and their community-based approach to personal and business insurance is a perfect fit for our region. We’re excited to welcome Wingert to the Highstreet team.”
