Industrial insurer HDI Global has hired Krystyna Kouri (pictured) as head of claims within its Canadian operations.

Kouri, whose career began as a lawyer, made the switch from Beazley to HDI Global Canada. The DWF alumnus worked as a claims analyst before progressing into management positions in adjusting and insurance.

According to HDI Global, Kouri’s expertise includes curating legal coverage opinions, risk management, arbitration, and litigation oversight, while her claims know-how includes general liability, specialty casualty, directors & officers, and engineering.

“I look forward to fully bolstering our team’s claims response capabilities through streamlined coordination, and transparency through our processes,” commented Kouri, who has been in insurance for more than two decades.

“I am excited to optimize HDI’s protocols to best handle the challenges our clients are facing.”

Managing director & chief agent Klaus Navarrete noted: “We at HDI will continue to provide the best resources for our clients in order to deliver the utmost worth.

“Our partners are at the centre of our interests, and I am confident that the leadership and skill that the addition of Krystyna Kouri provides will continue to exhibit this dedication.”

Kouri came on board on May 13, joining HDI Global’s more than 5,000 employees across the world.

During the same month, the Talanx Group-owned insurer reported its financial performance for the first quarter of 2024.

At the time, HDI Global chief executive Dr Edgar Puls said: “With the good results in the first quarter, HDI Global has made a very promising start into the new financial year.
