Hamilton Insurance Group has announced Jamie Secor’s promotion to the position of chief underwriting officer at Hamilton Select, the group’s division that specializes in US excess and surplus (E&S) lines.

Secor brings over two decades of underwriting and senior management experience to her new role. Prior to joining Hamilton, she spent 10 years at Kinsale Insurance Company. At Kinsale, she was instrumental in establishing the professional liability team and later led its commercial property division.

According to her LinkedIn, Secor’s career in underwriting began in 2000 at State Farm Insurance, followed by a stint at James River Insurance in 2004. Her professional qualifications include the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance, and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designations.

“I’m exceptionally excited to step into the chief underwriting officer role at Hamilton Select. With our experienced and committed team, we look forward to increasing our market penetration in what we anticipate being another robust year in the E&S market,” Secor said.

Secor, who has been a part of Hamilton since 2021, will report directly to Anita Kuchma, chief executive officer of Hamilton Select. The division operates out of Hamilton’s US headquarters located in Richmond, Virginia.

“I’m pleased to congratulate Jamie on her well-deserved promotion,” Kuchma said. “Since joining Hamilton in 2021, Jamie’s know-how and expertise have proven instrumental in building Hamilton Select. I look forward to working with her even more closely as our key E&S underwriting platform continues to thrive.”
