GTA VI Trailer Leaked, Then Released

After 10 years we finally get a follow-up to GTA V. Rockstar has returned the game to fan favorite city, Vice City. The fictional locale is based on the real-life city of Miami and from the looks of things in the trailer, certain other parts of Florida. There are even gators and they look like they attack people.

Aside from the gorgeous graphics, a few details from the trailer though stand out.

The Forza Motorsport Reboot Looks Spectacular

One shot shows a fan boat going through what looks to be a swamp modeled on the Everglades, followed by flamingos taking flight from the swamp.

Donks make an appearance in the game, which given the fact that the sitting is in a fictional version of Miami shouldn’t be surprising.

Apparently there will also be dirtbike and atv takeovers.

As well as street takeovers, which again given the setting is spot on.

Newer vehicles make an appearance too. Rockstar has never actually used real life vehicles in GTA games; they’re often loosely based on real cars; a Dodge Charger is called a Buffalo in the GTA universe for instance. This time around though Rockstar has made the cars look closer to their real life counterparts.

This shot shows what’s known in GTA as a Schyster PMP 600, which is what they call the in universe Chrysler 300. This one looks closer to the real thing.

Same thing with this night shot of Vice City. There’s what looks to be a 992 Porsche 911, which is called a Pfister Comet/Comet S2 in universe, a C8 Corvette parked down the street (Invetro Coueqtte in universe) along with a couple of other cars that look more real than any other cars in a Grand Theft Auto game before this one. This will also be the first GTA with a woman as the lead character — a woman named Lucia—something that should have happened years ago.

Rockstar isn’t offering more details right now, but I’d wager that we won’t get a full release of the game until either the end of 2024 or early 2025. I’ll be pre ordering as soon as it goes live.
