Grow your own talent with a school-leaver apprentice
Authored by Aviva
With many young people about to collect their GCSE and A Level results, now’s the time to potentially look at recruiting an apprentice for your business. A lot goes into running an apprenticeship programme, of course, but it can be worth the effort to help grow your own talent. Our Aviva-backed broker apprenticeship programme gives you all our experience to call on, as well as the expertise of our partners at Davies Learning Solutions, to help make sure yours is a success.
What is an apprenticeship?
Not to be confused with internships, an apprenticeship is a paid job where employees gain valuable experience in a role while following a set training plan and working towards a nationally recognised qualification. Employers commit to giving apprentices time and space to develop and study. Typically, apprentices spend 80% of their time learning ‘on the job’ and 20% learning ‘off the job’. Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 and are a great way to get started in a new career.
Why should your business have one?
Apprenticeships offer just as much to a business as they do to an individual looking to upskill. An apprentice can bring new ideas and energy to your team. And as their training can be adapted to the needs of your business, it’s an effective way to grow the talent you need.
What support can you get?
You’re not on your own in setting up a successful programme. Our Insurance Broker Apprenticeship has been created to help you make the most of the opportunities you have to offer. Plus, there’s funding to help you do it.*
