GreenShield, the sole national non-profit health and benefits company in Canada, has partnered with the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Response Alliance (DRA) as part of its dedication to proactive disaster relief support.

Through an annual contribution of $200,000, GreenShield aims to aid the Canadian Red Cross in providing assistance to families, businesses, and communities affected by disasters.

Executive vice president and head of marketing, communications & GreenShield Cares Mandy Mail said: “As a non-profit social enterprise, GreenShield is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.

The Canadian Red Cross leverages the DRA to pre-position supplies and ensure disaster response teams and systems are ready nationwide. The alliance is essential for the Red Cross to expand its preparedness efforts and maintain its ability to assist Canadians in need.

According to GreenShield, its partnership with the DRA aims to create a lasting, positive impact, aligning with the company’s ‘Better Health for All’ mission.

GreenShield highlighted that it reinvests its earnings and redeploys its health services to support communities across the country. The ambitious goal is to reinvest $75 million to enhance the lives of at least one million Canadians by the end of next year.

Beyond its involvement with the DRA, GreenShield will continue to support disaster relief by providing two hours of complimentary GreenShield Health virtual therapy to Canadians in crisis.
