Gallagher Re hires Brad Livingston as Head of Collateralized Re
Reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has attracted a key hire of an executive with significant insurance-linked securities (ILS) experience, as Brad Livingston has left parametric firm Arbol to join the broker as its new Head of Collateralized Re.
Livingston had only been at Arbol, as its Head of Risk Capital Solutions, for less than one-year, having joined the technology-led underwriter of parametric risk transfer, climate and weather insurance or reinsurance back last October.
Prior to Arbol, Livingston had spent a period at private equity specialist Apollo Global where he worked to originate P&C opportunities for the investment group.
Before that, from 2019, he was a Director in the Willis Re Securities division of Willis Towers Watson (WTW), working on capital markets reinsurance, collateralized reinsurance and insurance-linked securities (ILS) structuring.
Before that, he had worked at AXIS Capital from 2017, working his way up to become Head of Third Party Capital there and leading all its ILS initiatives.
Prior to that he had his first stint at Willis Towers Watson Securities from 2013, as Vice President of Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS), developing and structuring property catastrophe reinsurance treaty opportunities for institutional investors for a period of four years.
Livingston began his career at reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter’s capital markets unit GC Securities from 2007 to 2013, working on ILS and catastrophe bond opportunities for its clients.
So he has a wealth of experience in the ILS and collateralize reinsurance marketplace, across structures from catastrophe bonds to sidecars, and more.
As Head of Collateralized Re at Gallagher Re, Livingston will lead the brokers work with collateralized markets and ILS investors looking for access to reinsurance in private transactional form, while helping the brokers ceding clients to access efficient reinsurance and retrocessional capital via collateralized structures.
