CHU Underwriting Agencies won the Underwriting Agency of the Year award during the 19th Australian Insurance Industry Awards.

“This win is validation of our strategic direction and efforts to lead the industry. We are truly humbled to receive this prestigious award once again,” said Kimberly Jonsson, CEO of CHU.

The Underwriting Agency of the Year award recognized the underwriting agency that had demonstrated excellent technical skills, strong underwriting results, and outstanding customer service.

Other agencies that also vied for the award were National Transport Insurance Limited (NTI), ProRisk, and the Underwriting Agencies of Australia.

“We are all extremely proud of what we achieved in 2022. It was a great year of growth, development, innovation and importantly, giving back to our people and our community,” said Jonsson.

CHU’s approach to people development, industry contribution, and focus on community work and environmental strategy were touched on by the judges along with the improvement to their services that included a catastrophe response team and technology enhancements. The agency’s education and training programs for brokers and strata managers were also commended as they also had a CHUniversity L&D initiative for their internal staff and the FUCHURE CHU initiative.

CHU’s continued environmental efforts were also praised as the company had built a 60% electric or hybrid fleet and had funded projects that involved the planting of trees.
