Europ Assistance, a subsidiary of Generali Group, has launched operations in Canada. This marks its 36th market globally and its second in North America, alongside Generali Global Assistance in the US.

The expansion is led by a knowledgeable Canadian team with deep roots in the local insurance industry. Robert Iafrate was named CEO of Europ Assistance Canada.

“I am thrilled to spearhead this venture. We aim to mesh our global network with bespoke local solutions to cater uniquely to Canadian clients and revolutionize the travel insurance landscape here,” said Iafrate, CEO of Europ Assistance Canada, with over three decades in the industry, highlighted the strategic approach to blending global capabilities with local needs.

Europ Assistance will collaborate with various domestic and global partners, including travel agencies, financial institutions, and retailers, to offer diverse insurance products.

The company also plans to partner with over 300 local services like hospitals and air ambulance services to ensure comprehensive support for travellers within and to Canada.

Antoine Parisi, CEO of the Europ Assistance Group (pictured), expressed enthusiasm about the Canadian expansion.
