EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants (EPIC) has announced the addition of Steve Gaches (pictured) as managing principal of its entertainment & sports division.

Gaches, based in Nashville, Tennessee, brings over a decade of legal and business expertise in the entertainment sector to his new role.

Before joining EPIC, he led the legal and business affairs group for music and comedy touring at William Morris Endeavor (WME), a global talent agency. At WME, Gaches played a key role in navigating legal complexities and driving growth in the company’s music and touring business.

Scott Davis, president of national specialties & risk management at EPIC, highlighted Gaches’ experience as being set to bolster the practice.

“Steve has a profound understanding of the entertainment industry. His expertise in live events, music licensing, contracts, and intellectual property will greatly enhance our capabilities and service offerings to clients in the entertainment ecosystem. We are thrilled to expand EPIC’s entertainment specialty in the Nashville region under Steve’s leadership,” Davis said.

“I am excited to be a part of the EPIC team and enhance our presence in the music and entertainment space, particularly here in the vibrant music city of Nashville,” Gaches said. “EPIC has a reputation for providing specialized client solutions that I look forward to continuing to build upon.”

Roger Sandau, executive operating partner/global sports & entertainment at EPIC’s parent company Galway Holdings, LP, also commented on Gaches’ appointment.

“Steve’s appointment is a reflection of EPIC’s commitment to investing in top talent. His leadership and deep industry connections will contribute greatly to our insurance advisory and risk management practice, serving the unique needs of artists, promoters, songwriters, venues, and merchandisers,” he said.

“The live event industry continues to experience incredible growth,” Sandau explained. “We’re seeing larger-scale events, tours, and festivals, as well as an expanded landscape of client needs including licensing, intellectual property, and digital innovations. Steve is an incredible addition to our team of experienced and accomplished industry professionals, dedicated to supporting the specialized coverage needs of our entertainment clients.”
