Allstate Foundation

CHICAGO, October 1, 2024— One in four women and one in seven men face relationship abuse during their lives. For nearly two decades, The Allstate Foundation has been empowering survivors through strategic grants, employee training, and dynamic partnerships with relationship abuse nonprofits nationwide. As the nation focuses attention during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Allstate Foundation proudly highlights initiatives and trusted partnerships designed to help more survivors live free from abuse:

Advanced Customer-Facing Training: Tailored training developed with long-time partner the National Domestic Violence Hotline, equips frontline Allstate employees to better recognize and assist those potentially in crisis.

DV Advocate Conference: The Allstate Foundation proudly supported this national gathering in Chicago, hosted by the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which unites advocates, allies and survivors to share expertise, foster connections, and strengthen support networks.

GirlTREK & Ujima Partnership: The Allstate Foundation is teaming up with Ujima and GirlTREK, the leading nonprofit focused on Black women’s health, to host solidarity walks and share a new resource to support survivors and their loved ones. Allstate employees will also walk in solidarity through their annual Sprint & Stride 5K.

Supporting survivors in the workplace: The Allstate Foundation is hosting a pivotal panel, “Supporting Relationship Abuse Survivors in the Workplace,” to guide business leaders on fostering a supportive work environment for survivors of domestic violence.

A Call to Men Breakfast: Hosted at Soldier Field, this inspiring event sponsored by The Allstate Foundation challenges harmful norms with a focus on respect and empowerment for all.

YWCA Week without Violence: The annual campaign supports national efforts to combat violence against women and girls, with grant funding from The Foundation supporting 30 local YWCA activations, amplifying community efforts to prevent violence locally.

“Allstate and The Allstate Foundation encourage everyone to learn signs of abuse, and how to support someone who you think may be in a crisis,” said Sharisse Kimbro, The Allstate Foundation’s relationship abuse program officer. “Together, with trust-based philanthropy practices and a vibrant network of advocates countrywide, we can continue to disrupt the cycle of relationship abuse.”
