This glamorous event celebrates the industry’s leading insurance professionals from across the country. Brokers and brokerages, insurers and insurance companies, underwriters and agencies, claims handlers and service companies – all can enter the fray with a nomination. Nominating is the first step before an independent judging panel decides who gets an award on the big September night of nights.

25 prestigious categories

This year, IB is seeking nominations across 25 prestigious categories that are open to brokers, brokerages, insurers, underwriting agencies, BDMs, claims teams, individuals, service providers and more.

AAMC, one of Australia’s largest providers of motor accident management services, is sponsoring the General Insurer Claims Team of the Year award. This year, considerable weight will be placed on nominations that come directly from the broking community.

Daniel Lukich (pictured above), AAMC’s sales and strategic relationships manager, said enhancing the digital capability of insurers in the motor claims space remains one of the biggest current challenges for his sector.

“Repairers were more or less the central point around a motor claim where now, the insurer has a lot more control of what’s going on,” said Lukich. “There are a number of challenges that the sector is grappling with in 2023, creating a very testing time within motor claims.”

Among those challenges, Lukich included claims cost inflation and reduced efficiency due to compliance obligations and data security implications.

He said claims teams case managers need to have technical capability but also genuinely care and show empathy for the customer.

“A proactive approach to case management, not just process, and reacting to daily tasks schedules,” he said. “Also synergy between the initial lodgement (or registration) and the claims team to avoid duplication and delays.”

He said the awards are an important way of acknowledging and highlighting “the very best performers.”

“Like most industries, individual companies and businesses within our industry operate within their own boundaries and rarely have the opportunity to interact with their peers and competitors in a more informal atmosphere,” said Lukich.

A black-tie gala evening at a glamorous venue

IB is excited to announce that the 2023 Awards will be an in-person black-tie gala evening on September 15, 2023, at one of Sydney’s most beautiful and historic buildings: The Fullerton Hotel in Martin Place.

This is the ideal opportunity to acknowledge hard work and outstanding achievements over another challenging year. We encourage you to nominate your team, company, an exceptional colleague or even yourself!

Thank you partners and sponsors

IB would like to extend a special thanks to the 2023 Awards Premium Partner, the Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC). A very warm ‘thank you’ also goes to the awards sponsors: AAMC, AXA XL, CHU Underwriting Agencies, Innovation Group, QBE and Wilbur for supporting this event and encouraging insurance excellence. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
