Authored by DA

DAS UK Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of After the Event (ATE) insurance, have been named Insurance Provider of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards 2023.

The awards, organised by Claims Media in association with Blume, recognised individuals, teams and providers across the personal injury sector. The intention of the awards is to identify high standards of practice and to inspire others to emulate the achievements demonstrated by those who have been shortlisted.

“To be recognised as the best in the industry, against such strong competition, is a credit to everyone in our ATE team.” – Carol Parsons, Head of ATE

The Insurance Provider of the Year award was awarded based on several criteria, including how insurers delivered successful outcomes, how they have worked to raise standards in personal injury, and how they are making a positive difference in the wider community. DAS were regarded by the judging panel as being “a true standout in the field”

DAS have supported over 24,000 clients since the introduction of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO), and paying out £30m in claims in that time. 98.6% of partners reported being satisfied or extremely satisfied with working with DAS, and 100% said that they would recommend working with DAS.

“Congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to our entrants and judges. It’s been a real pleasure to read about the inspiring and high-quality entries which make such a difference to the lives of injured people.” – Mike Benner, Chief Executive, APIL

Carol Parsons, Head of ATE at DAS, said: “To be recognised as the best in the industry, against such strong competition, is a credit to everyone in our ATE team. On a daily basis they provide a superb service to our customers and I feel privileged to work with such a great group of people.”

Mike Benner, chair of the judging panel and chief executive of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, said: “Experiencing an injury – becoming a victim of negligence – can be life changing for many, but is certainly difficult and stressful for all and therefore our sector has a duty to ease the process and do what we can to rebuild lives shattered through negligence. I see these awards as a celebration of that.”
