DAMD Will Transform Your Suzuki Jimny Into A Lancia Delta Integrale Or Renault 5 Turbo

Every year since the release of the new Suzuki Jimny in 2019, Japanese tuning company DAMD has released body kits and other styling parts for the tiny SUV that make it look older and more retro or like other off-roaders such as the Mercedes-Benz G-wagen and Toyota Land Cruiser. For the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, DAMD is releasing two new kits for the Jimny that transform it into ultra cute interpretations of two 1980s rally legends.

The Suzuki X-90 Is Either Awfully Brilliant or Simply Awful

The first one is dubbed “Little 5,” inspired by the Renault 5 Turbo. It has a new front end with square headlights, a slim grille and a grey plastic bumper that really do a great job of looking like the French hatch. Replacing the Jimny’s black plastic fender flares are wider molded flares that are painted body color, with little stickers at the front of the rear fenders that ape the 5’s air vents and (likely fake) straked air vents at the back of rear fenders.

Rounding out the upgrades are a spoiler at the top of the hatch and a new rear bumper with smaller rectangular lights. My favorite part is the huge decal on the doors that declares the Jimny as “Non TURBO,” a cheeky nod to the Renault’s Turbo graphics.

The second kit is even wilder. Called the “Little Δ,” it takes its inspiration from the Lancia Delta Integrale. This kit shares its fenders and bumpers with the Little 5 — though the bumpers are also painted body color — and it has its own Lancia-like grille and round headlights, plus a larger roof spoiler. There’s even a racing stripe down the center of the car.

For these Jimny kits, DAMD partnered with OZ Racing on a new version of the Italian company’s iconic rally wheel. Offered in either grey with white stickers or white with red stickers (the correct choice), the wheels will be available to purchase separately. Sadly, neither Jimny gets any powertrain modifications.

DAMD hasn’t put out an English release for the Jimny kits yet, but the Japanese microsite for the company’s Auto Salon debuts is pretty great when run through Google Translate. Describing the Little 5 kit, it says:

A blue warrior whose stories are handed down from generation to generation. Little 5.

The essence of the beautiful shape of the world-famous bestseller has been converted into the Jimny. The fighting compact known as the French Monster has evolved into a crossover.

The description for the Little Δ is even better:

A memorable red form. Little Δ.

Cut through the wind and dash through any road. A fusion of the legendary styling of the hot hatch that captivated the world and a full-fledged off-roader. Relive those days when you were in love again.

And you know what, I do think a Suzuki Jimny with a Lancia Delta Integrale bodykit would help me relive the feeling of being in love. Like DAMD’s other Jimny offerings, these kits are just adorable. I’m not typically a fan of cars being made up to look like something totally different, but these weird mashups are done right and make me smile.
