Crawford & Company, a global provider of claims management solutions, has announced significant appointments in Malaysia and the Middle East.

The latest appointments underscore the company’s commitment to expanding its expertise and enhancing its service offerings in both regions.

Crawford Malaysia

In Malaysia, Wong Tai Onn has been appointed as the head of region for Johor & Malacca, effective immediately.

Based in Johor Bahru, Wong brings to the role extensive experience from senior loss adjusting positions at multinational adjusting companies.

Crawford Malaysia country manager Nathan Hannah highlighted Wong’s respected standing in the insurance industry and his comprehensive expertise in handling a wide range of claims, including fire, contractors’ all risks, natural catastrophes, and commercial property losses.

“Tai Onn has over 20 years’ experience and is in fact one of the few ‘all-rounders’ in the Malaysia industry with deep claims handling expertise across engineering, property, motor, and even crop insurance. He will lead an already experienced and established team, focused on the full spectrum of insurance claims that occur around the southern peninsular of Malaysia,” he said.

Crawford Middle East

In parallel, Crawford has also fortified its Middle East operations with the appointment of Hilda Levendal as head of liability and professional indemnity for the region.

Levendal, who will be based in Dubai and report to Victor Noble, regional director for the Middle East and executive general adjuster at Crawford Dubai, brings over a decade of experience in the liability claims sector, along with a deep understanding of commercial and property law.

This move is part of Crawford’s strategy to enhance its liability and professional indemnity services and to explore new opportunities for growth in the Middle East.

Additionally, Mayra Villegas has joined the Middle East team as a liability loss adjuster, bringing with her a wealth of litigation and commercial experience.

Noble expressed confidence in the new appointments, stating that they are integral to Crawford’s ambitions to expand its presence and set new standards for service quality in the liability sector across the Middle East.

“Crawford sees considerable opportunity to expand its presence in the liability sector across the Middle East. Hilda brings deep knowledge in handling large and complex liability exposures coupled with the ability to lead high‐performing teams which will be integral to our ambitions in the region,” he said. “By continuing to strengthen our team of highly qualified and dedicated practitioners, we are able to set new standards for service quality and deliver on purpose of restoring lives, businesses, and communities.”
