As Malaysia’s Pahang region prepares for its annual monsoon season, Crawford & Company has increased its local capacity by appointing Mohammad Aminuddin Bin Alias as head of its Pahang branch.
This appointment comes in anticipation of heightened flood risks toward the year’s end.

Nathan Hannah, managing director of Crawford Malaysia, emphasised the company’s readiness to assist insurers as flood season approaches – noting that historically, the area has been impacted by significant flood damage during monsoon periods.
“We know that the severity and scale of natural weather events around the world has been on an increasing trajectory for several years now, so it’s critical we are prepared and well placed to support our clients,” he said.

Aminuddin (pictured), who joined Crawford in August, brings over 13 years of experience in handling catastrophe (CAT) events, with a specific emphasis on flood-related claims. His background includes expertise in property, liability, engineering, and business interruption claims, as well as natural disaster response.
The appointment strengthens Crawford’s operations in Pahang, a region known for its vulnerability to flooding.
Hannah said Aminuddin’s extensive experience with post-disaster claims places him in a good position to manage the challenges that lie ahead.
“When you look at Malaysia in an overall sense, Pahang is particularly vulnerable to severe weather events, so it’s great that we can fill this role with someone of Amin’s calibre and knowledge of the local market,” he said. “I’m very confident in timely and effective claims management under his leadership.”

Aminuddin’s primary focus since assuming his role has been on boosting the branch’s flood response capabilities.
“Ensuring our clients receive the swift, professional support they need when disasters strike is my number one priority,” Aminuddin said.
Crawford Malaysia’s new senior adjuster
Crawford Malaysia has also appointed Nazirul Jabri Bin Roslee as senior adjuster, adding further depth to the branch’s expertise.
Nazirul, with 11 years of experience in loss adjusting, has handled numerous flood-related claims, particularly in Malaysia’s east coast. His specialised knowledge is expected to further enhance the branch’s ability to manage large-scale events.
Hannah said the company’s strategy is to continuously reinforce its presence across Malaysia by adding skilled professionals like Aminuddin and Nazirul.
“We are constantly evaluating how we can strengthen our presence right across Malaysia by securing this kind of talent and focusing on executing industry-leading service during both regular operations and times of catastrophe,” he said.
Kuppusamy leads the division’s efforts to address the growing number of personal accident claims, including those involving fraud.
Hannah explained that the decision to bolster the fraud investigations team stems from an observed increase in personal accident claims. He further pointed to a correlation between economic downturns and a rise in fraudulent claims, emphasising the need for experienced investigators.
In his new role, Kuppusamy focuses on managing fraud investigations while also developing new talent within the team.
