Cover.Insure, a direct-to-consumer insurance provider, has appointed Chris Rouse as its new chief executive officer.

The appointment coincides with the company’s plans to broaden its insurance offerings in Australia.

Rouse brings over two decades of experience in insurance and technology, having previously held the position of executive general manager – technology at Steadfast Limited, where he led various digital transformation initiatives.

In his new role, Rouse will focus on leveraging digital tools to enhance customer accessibility and streamline the insurance experience.

Cover.Insure product expansion

Cover.Insure recently introduced its first product – travel insurance in partnership with Battleface.

The company now plans to expand its suite of offerings to include motor, home, contents, and pet insurance.

Cover.Insure tech partnership

Cover.Insure aims to use technology to simplify the insurance process for Australian consumers, enabling them to more easily purchase, manage, and renew policies through a fully digital platform.

Rouse said partnering with EnsurTek, a provider of insurance technology solutions, allows the company to build a platform that facilitates a smooth customer journey – from purchasing insurance to managing claims.

“Our mission is to empower customers by making insurance simple, transparent, and accessible. In partnership with EnsurTek, we’re leveraging state-of-the-art technology to ensure a streamlined experience,” he said.

Through this partnership, Cover.Insure will offer consumers digital tools for policy management, real-time updates, and simplified claims processing, all available through a user-friendly online interface.

Anton Royce, CEO of EnsurTek, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that Rouse’s customer-centric focus aligns with EnsurTek’s mission of enhancing the digital insurance experience.

“Chris’s forward-thinking approach aligns perfectly with EnsurTek’s mission to make insurance management simple and intuitive,” he said.

He added that the partnership will enable both companies to prioritise efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Insurance Business recently released its 2024 list of the top insurance innovators, spotlighting companies that have made strides in adopting new technologies, launching novel products, and implementing new distribution models.
