Law firm Collin Biggers & Paisley has expanded its insurance team in Brisbane with five new appointments.
The new team members include:
George Williams, special counsel;
Alice Elliott, solicitor;
Jordon Baillie, paralegal;
Aidan O’Callaghan, paralegal; and
Georgia Williams, paralegal.
The appointees will join Colin Biggers & Paisley partner Georgina Wong’s team.
Since becoming partner in January 2023, Wong has been strengthening her position in the Queensland market for workers’ compensation, institutional risk and liability, dust disease injuries, and general liability, the firm said in a news release.
“I am excited to welcome back George along with welcoming Alice, Jordon, Aidan, and Georgia. We are in a strong phase of growth, and we recognise our clients’ growing needs for expert legal representation across specialist liability lines of business,” Wong said. “George’s expertise and experience compliment the team’s capabilities and will add significant resources to service our clients in the industry.”
Cathryn Prowse, joint insurance practice leader at Colin Biggers & Paisley, said: “The growth in Georgina’s team is fantastic. It shows that our commitment to attracting and nurturing first-rate practitioners has been working notwithstanding some challenging market factors.
“I look forward to continuing to support Georgina, George, and the rest of the team with their focus on delivering commercial solutions for their clients.”
Special counsel rejoins law firm
Williams, who rejoined Collin Biggers & Paisley, has experience managing casualty and personal injury claims in the pre-court proceedings process and litigation. His expertise focuses on defending workplace health and safety prosecutions and assisting employers with reviews of decisions with the workers’ compensation regulator.
Williams said: “I look forward to working alongside my talented colleagues to provide comprehensive legal support and representation to our clients. Together, we will continue to strengthen our position and meet the needs of our valued clients in Queensland.”
