Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP), a national law firm, has introduced a new brand identity and website in the lead-up to its 125th anniversary in 2025.
The rebranding follows a key leadership transition, with Andrew Murray named as deputy managing partner, effective from Aug. 7.

Managing partner Nick Crennan outlined the firm’s approach to the rebranding process, explaining that input was gathered from key stakeholders, including staff, clients, and partners, through surveys and workshops.
“We sought input from our leaders, staff, partners, clients, and referrers through surveys and focus groups, and workshopped our messaging over many months to ensure we captured the essence of what our practice means to our clients and our people,” he said.
The updated brand reflects Colin Biggers & Paisley’s evolution and ongoing focus on providing legal solutions in its core sectors.

Murray, who joined Colin Biggers & Paisley in 2010 and has been a partner in the Construction & Engineering Group since 2016, took on the new leadership role after having been actively involved in several of the firm’s key initiatives.
He has chaired Colin Biggers & Paisley’s inclusion and diversity leadership team, led graduate recruitment panels, and co-chaired its Pride@CBP group.
He earned his doctorate from the University of Sydney in 2018, focusing on reforms related to legal professional privilege and expert evidence. His interest in technology as a driver for enhancing legal services is seen as an asset as the firm continues to develop.
Commenting on his new role, Murray reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a workplace that supports diversity and allows the company’s teams to excel. He also noted his commitment to integrating new technologies to improve legal service delivery.
“It is a privilege to be appointed to this role and to have the confidence of our partners to work with Nick and join in the leadership of our successful legal practice into the future,” he said.
Crennan welcomed Murray’s appointment, highlighting his contributions to the firm’s diversity programs and graduate development.
“A celebrated construction lawyer, Andrew has also been front and centre on our diversity programs, and instrumental in the success of our industry leading graduate program,” he said.
Strong presence in insurance law
In addition to the leadership changes, Colin Biggers & Paisley was recognised for its expertise in insurance law, with 43 of its lawyers listed in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers for Australia.
Andrew Tulloch was named “Lawyer of the Year” for aviation law, underscoring the firm’s strong position in managing complex insurance matters, particularly within the aviation sector.
The Best Lawyers 2025 list includes over 4,500 lawyers across nine major Australian cities, with Sydney having the highest number of recognised professionals. In total, the list covers 95 practice areas, including key sectors such as insurance law, litigation, corporate law, and construction law.
