Chubb has appointed David Morrow as the new country president for New Zealand, effective immediately.

Morrow, previously serving as the head of property and casualty for Chubb New Zealand, will now oversee the company’s general insurance business in the country. This includes commercial P&C, traditional and specialty personal lines, and accident and health insurance.

Who is David Morrow?

Morrow’s extensive experience in the general insurance industry, spanning over 27 years, includes 15 years in leadership roles at Chubb.

He initially joined Chubb in 2009 as the property manager for New Zealand and later served across various Asian countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan, as the head of P&C. Morrow is also a senior associate of The Institute of New Zealand Insurance.

Reporting to Peter Kelaher, Chubb country president for Australia and New Zealand, Morrow takes over from Andrew Brooks, who has departed from the company.

In his new role, Morrow will be responsible for various aspects of the New Zealand general insurance business, including strategy, product, business development, and underwriting.

“I’m pleased to appoint David to lead our New Zealand general insurance operations,” Kehaler said. “David’s tenure with us has been marked by progressive leadership, showcasing his ability to steer our business with excellence. His expansive network and deep understanding of both Chubb and the general insurance industry positions us to capitalise on growth opportunities in the New Zealand market.”
