Global specialty (re)insurance group Chaucer has announced the appointment of Andrew Pearce (pictured above) as an independent non-executive director on the CSL Board, Audit Committee, Risk and Capital Committee, and Remuneration and Nominations Committee.

Pearce joins Chaucer after serving as managing director at Accenture since 2007. With a background in application development and delivery across various sectors including telecommunications, finance, defense, and government, he brings extensive expertise in leading multinational programs in outsourcing and IT transformation, Chaucer said..

Pearce’s previous experience includes a sixteen-year tenure in the Royal Air Force as an officer, where his final role was as deputy head of IT/CIS services at the Joint Services Command and Staff College. In this capacity, he was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive modernization program.

Recognized as a global minority ethnic role model by Green Park, Pearce was featured in their top 100 BAME leaders in business in 2018. He has also been acknowledged as one of the UK’s Top 30 most influential leaders of African, Caribbean, or African American heritage working within legal, financial, and professional services.

“John Fowle, the directors, and I are delighted to welcome Andrew to the board,” said Paul Jardine, non-executive chairman of Chaucer.

Jardine highlighted Pearce’s extensive experience in advising senior management at major global businesses on complex projects. He also acknowledged Pearce’s insights into inclusion and diversity initiatives, which Jardine said would be instrumental in further developing Chaucer’s programs in this area.

“Chaucer is a highly respected (re)insurance group with a strong reputation for its underwriting culture, the quality of its people and its commitment to brokers and clients around the world,” Pearce said. “I look forward to working with the board and contributing to the success of the business.”

Pearce is Chaucer’s latest appointment. Last month, the company named Simon Tighe group head of environmental, social and governance in addition to his role as head of investments and treasury. That appointment came shortly after Chaucer announced changes to its ESG strategy.
