Normally when we recommend you make a wildly financially irresponsible purchase, we’re talking about a car that you could probably afford by, say, liquidating a well-stocked college fund. Should you actually sabotage your kid’s future to buy a car, even if it’s rare and awesome? Of course not. It’s just something you could do. Unfortunately for most people, the 2014 McLaren P1 that’s currently for sale on Cars & Bids is already so pricey, it’s going to take a lot more than selling a few kidneys and raiding a college fund to afford it.

If you do happen to come up with $2 million or so through whatever methods one might use to obtain such money, there really aren’t many better ways to spend it than on a P1. With only 375 ever built for street use, the McLaren makes both the Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder look common in comparison. And if, like many of us, you never matured past middle school, you’ll be delighted to learn that this particular McLaren P1 is chassis number 69. Nice.

In addition to its gorgeous MSO Fusion Green Pearl 3 paint that the seller says is believed to have only ever been applied to this car, you also get the same powertrain that made the P1 so special when it first came out more than a decade ago. There’s a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 under the hood that, when combined with the output of the electric motor, puts out just over 900 hp. Back when it was new, that was enough power to allow MotorTrend to get the P1 through the quarter-mile in a mere 9.8 seconds. Even today, that’s still ridiculously quick.

Are you probably going to have to bend a few rules to get this thing into your garage? Probably. Can we condone that? Of course not. But, like, if you were to get away with whatever you needed to get away with in order to get that money, would you mind letting one of us drive it when you win? Surely Andy can be trusted behind the wheel of a seven-figure, ultra-rare hypercar, right?
