BrokerLink has acquired Alpine Insurance, marking the company’s largest purchase in Alberta to date.
It will now expand its operations into Calgary, Canmore, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge and the surrounding communities.
Alpine Insurance offers coverage for home, condominium, tenants, auto and commercial insurance. It also has specialisms in umbrella liability and high-value homes, in addition to specialty coverage for collectibles including art and antique cars.
“Bringing Alpine Insurance on board is a big deal for BrokerLink, and it’s especially exciting for our team members in Alberta, as it increases our ability to help protect many additional Albertans from financial risks,” said Albert Pol, BrokerLink vice president of distribution, Alberta.
“With [BrokerLink’s] expansive network across Canada and access to additional technology, I believe our customers’ experiences will be elevated,” said Cam Clay, Alpine Insurance president.
BrokerLink has also purchased Ontario-based Eagen Insurance Brokers Inc., which services Windsor and its neighbouring area.
Both deals were effective as of October 1.
“I admire Alpine and Eagen Insurance for their dedication to putting people first and commitment to delivering local advice, fostering relationships and commitment to striving for excellence,” said BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio.
Back in July, BrokerLink announced that it had nabbed its biggest deal at the time with an acquisition of Alberta’s Access Insurance Group.
During a conversation with Insurance Business, Michael Stack, BrokerLink’s VP of acquisitions, said that the company has based its M&A activity on the following criteria: “They need to have integrity, respect, and be customer driven.
“They believe in excellence in customer service and in business, and generosity not only with their communities, but with their people as well.”
