BMS hires Swiss Re ILS structuring exec Andras Bohm to lead U.S. Capital Advisory

Independent insurance and reinsurance broking group BMS Group has announced the hiring of Andras Bohm from Swiss Re as its new head of U.S. Capital Advisory and the CEO of BMS Capital Advisory, Inc.

Bohm was most recent the Head of ILS Structuring for the Americas of Swiss Re Capital Markets, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused arm of the global reinsurance giant.

Subject to regulatory approvals, Bohm will lead capital advisory in the United States for BMS, becoming the CEO of BMS Groups’ U.S. broker-dealer unit.

In the role, Bohm will be responsible for leading the broker’s investment banking and legacy solutions team in New York, working alongside colleagues in the UK and Bermuda and reporting to BMS Re CEO, Pete Chandler.

At Swiss Re Capital Markets, Bohm led the team’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) structuring activities in the Americas.

Across the last ten years, Bohm has been involved in executing more than 70 transactions to support clients, with a total volume of over US $15 billion.

Transactions he has been involved in range across advisory, capital raising and structuring insurance-linked securities such as catastrophe bonds.
