The appointments commence an expansion of BMS specialties in North America, working with BMS US marine specialists and completing the circle of service across energy and marine, the company said. Collier, Saggers and Vertigan will be based in London and will report to James Chicken, managing director of energy lines at BMS.

Collier has 15 years of energy experience, with a focus on physical damage and liability insurance for upstream energy clients. He joins BMS from Price Forbes & Partners, where he has served as executive director for the energy division since 2019.

Vertigan joins the company with 35 years of experience in the energy sector. During his career, he has specialized in the independent wholesale specialty space covering downstream energy, renewables, power and marine. He has focused on upstream energy for the past 18 years. Vertigan joins BMS from Miller Insurance Services, where he most recently served as an energy account handler. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Marsh & McLennan Companies and Sedgwick Offshore Resources.

Saggers has more than 15 years of experience in broking and advisory. He joins BMS from Price Forbes & Partners, where he most recently served as a director. He began his insurance career in 2008 at RK Harrison’s energy division.
