Blanket bolsters fire and general insurance team

Blanket has bolstered its fire and general insurance as New Zealand moves into a new financial advice licensing regime. Answering to managing director Nick Rolfe, the expanded adviser team includes:

Kelsey Perkin, distribution and operations manager
Stephanie Wyatt, sales and broking manager
Jolene Rautenbach, senior commercial adviser
Kit Clarke, associate commercial adviser
Ashley Prakash, domestic insurance adviser
Nitesh Khanna, associate domestic adviser
Meherzad Patel, adviser support specialist

This new team will support financial advisers who have chosen not to complete their level five qualifications, or do not have internal general insurance support.

“There’s no better time” for fire and general insurance

Besides the financial advice provider and broker’s quoting platform, Blanket’s referral service also allows advisers to refer their clients to the newly expanded team, whether it be for domestic or commercial product lines.

In a press release, managing director Nick Rolfe said that “there’s no better time” for clients to continue to have comprehensive fire and general insurance, especially after the extreme weather events. That said, he recognized that not all financial advisers have chosen to complete their fire and general strand under the new regime.

“Blanket’s referral service allows advisers to continue growing their business and [they] can be assured our team of experienced general insurance advisers will offer quality financial advice, to deliver great outcomes for their clients,” he said.

The Financial Markets Authority (FMA) – Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko also recently outlined advisers’ duties as the new financial regime officially took effect.
