Billyard Insurance Group (BIG) opened another branch in the Durham Region near Highway 2 in Courtice, Ontario.
BIG’s new branch will be led by managing partners Nazim and Saima Charania, a husband-and-wife team working in the insurance industry for over 20 years.
In an emailed news release, Nazim Charania talked of the career he has built within BIG and expressed enthusiasm over being able to open his own branch.
“Prior to becoming a managing partner, I was a top producer with BIG Pickering,” Nazim said. “I loved my time there but had always wanted to be a business owner. BIG offers tremendous support to its managing partners, and it seemed only natural that if I were going to take this next step in my development, I would do it with a brand that I had already achieved so much with.”
Saima Charania echoed her husband’s comments and said they partnered with BIG because its values align with theirs.
“As managing partners, we’re eager to lead with a commitment to excellence, creating a dynamic and inclusive workplace,” she said.
“Establishing a branch in Courtice fills us with excitement as we aim to engage with its vibrant community and make a positive difference in their financial journey.”
The grand opening of the Courtice branch was held Wednesday, with the brokerage’s senior leadership team in attendance.
The event was also attended by Rhonda Armour and Alyssa Crittenden of the Clarington Board of Trade, as well as Clarington regional councillor Granville Anderson.
“The opening of BIG Courtice represents the start of a new chapter for our brokerage,” said Jennifer Smith, director of business development.
“At BIG, it’s not just about insurance; it’s about building connections, providing exceptional service, and empowering our clients to secure their futures. With the expertise and unique skillsets that Nazim and Saima possess, there is no doubt in my mind that they will be able to effectively serve a diverse group of clients and help grow the BIG brand.”
