AXIS Capital names new global cyber head

Industry veteran is “exceptionally well-suited” to head cyber and technology business

AXIS Capital Holdings has announced the appointment of Lori Bailey as the head of cyber and technology. She succeeds Dan Trueman in the role.

Bailey will report to Mark Gregory, head of global markets, and will be based in New York.

In her new role, Bailey will be taking charge of the company’s global cyber and technology team. Her responsibilities will include shaping the division’s strategy, driving its profitability and growth goals, leading the global team, and strengthening customer relationships. Bailey and Trueman will work together to ensure a seamless handover, AXIS said in a news release.

“Lori is a highly regarded leader within the cyber space and is exceptionally well-suited to run our industry-recognized global cyber and technology business,” Gregory said. “She brings an established track record of leading teams, driving profitable business growth, and building strong customer relationships.”

Bailey joined AXIS in June as the global head of growth within the global cyber and technology team. Prior to her tenure at AXIS, she served as the chief insurance officer at the cyber-focused MGA Corvus, where she led risk capital and capital procurement strategy, while also overseeing actuarial, catastrophe modeling, and captive management. She has also held senior positions at Zurich Insurance Group. Earlier in her career, she held underwriting and client advisory roles at AIG and Marsh.

AXIS also recently announced the appointment of Rebecca O’Kill as chief data and analytics officer.
