Ausure Insurance Services has marked a significant milestone by helping a Victorian plumbing business save $25,000 on its insurance premiums.

The company said the accomplishment underscores the importance of insurance brokers in helping clients facing steep premium hikes and potential non-renewals.

Victorian plumbing business saves $25,000 on insurance

In early June, the plumbing business encountered a critical situation: its insurer refused to renew its policy due to a history of claims, and its existing broker found only one alternative – a new policy priced at $33,000, a dramatic increase from their previous $3,000 premium.

On June 3, with less than 24 hours before the insurance expired, the owner contacted Ausure Insurance Services. The team promptly collected detailed information about the business’s operations and claims history.

Ausure Insurance Services then reached out to Adam Sloan, head of sales and blended broking, and John Mills, broking manager. Within two days, they secured a more affordable insurance solution, resulting in a substantial $25,000 saving for the plumbing business.

Benefits of having an insurance broker

Ausure Insurance Services said the achievement highlights the benefits of using an insurance broker for business insurance needs.

“Many business owners are inclined to go to a direct insurer in a bid to save money,” it said. “However, an insurance broker can do the shopping around for you and will often approach the same insurers you do, if not more. A broker will approach suitable insurers for your business operations and present the quotes and coverage options to you so you can make an educated decision based on adequate protection and budget. The other crucial component of using an insurance broker is that they work for you, not the insurer. When it comes time to lodge a claim, it can often be you [versus] the insurer. An insurance broker will manage the entire claim for you, including escalations and follow-ups to ensure you get the rightful outcome.”

The business owner expressed gratitude, stating: “The team at Ausure Insurance Services were able to find a much more affordable option for us in two days. They requested quite a bit of detail around our claims and how our business operated, trying to understand if the cause of the claims was potentially an ongoing issue or if we had reduced our exposure. The effort they went to was greatly appreciated.”

Ausure Insurance Services said the resolution not only secured coverage for the plumbing business but also led to two new client referrals.
