Ausure has broadened its Training and Promotion (T&P) subsidy programme to include a 50% subsidy for Tier 2 insurance broking studies.

This initiative is the latest phase of Ausure’s educational support programme, which previously offered subsidies for Diploma and Tier 1 courses to its authorised representatives (ARs).

Mick O’Bree, general manager of licensee operations at Ausure, has overseen the T&P programme since its inception in late 2023.

He noted the strong response to the previous subsidy offerings and expressed optimism about the potential impact of extending the programme to Tier 2 studies.

“I have been really pleased with the uptake of our brokers completing their Diploma and Tier 1 studies, and [I] am looking forward to helping the next wave of our network start their learning journey,” he said.

He said that the programme could be appealing to those outside the insurance industry, providing a clear entry path into a career with Ausure.

“This initiative has not only empowered our team with essential skills, but also strengthened Ausure’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the insurance industry,” she said.

The expanded subsidy is aimed at Ausure ARs who have not yet begun their Tier 2, Tier 1, or Diploma studies, providing them with financial support as they start or further their education in insurance broking.

The Tier 2 course represents the foundational stage of an insurance broker’s educational path, and this subsidy aligns with Ausure’s strategic focus on fostering new talent within the industry.

The programme’s expansion is also timed with Ausure’s Emerging Talent Day, which is dedicated to the development of young professionals under the age of 35 within the insurance broking sector.

Adam Sloan, general manager of business development at Ausure, highlighted the importance of this timing, noting the benefits of this initiative in helping those new to insurance broking gain knowledge and skills needed to succeed.

“It is a great time to start your insurance broker career here at Ausure,” he said. “Insurance broking is a career that is not widely known to students and those outside the industry. This initiative not only promises to attract fresh talent but also elevates the overall knowledge and expertise within the field, benefiting both emerging and established professionals.”

Ausure encourages ARs and staff members interested in the subsidised education opportunities to speak with their managers or contact programme coordinators for further details.
