Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Caryn Brough as the head of US distribution, in addition to her existing role as group head of marketing.

Brough joined Aspen in 2017. During her tenure, she spearheaded Aspen’s successful rebranding efforts in 2021, which showcased the company’s transformation, aligned with its future vision, and bolstered its market positioning.

In her expanded capacity, Brough will collaborate closely with trading partners to represent Aspen across all business segments in the US. She will also work closely with Aspen’s underwriting teams to develop comprehensive distribution strategies and adapt them as needed to meet evolving market demands. Brough will continue overseeing Aspen’s global marketing and brand strategy and will report directly to Jonny Atkinson, group chief business development officer.

“I’m pleased that Caryn has accepted to lead our US distribution,” Atkinson said. “Throughout her tenure she has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional results and building strong relationships. With her ability to identify market opportunities, combined with strong analytical skills, she is just the natural candidate to take this role to the next level.”

“I truly look forward to working with Caryn in this role and have every confidence she will successfully lead our US distribution efforts, continue to foster strong relationships with our partners, and drive sustainable growth for the company,” said Bruce Eisler, CEO for the US and chief underwriting officer for insurance at Aspen.

“I am excited to take on this expanded responsibility,” Brough said. “I look forward to working even more closely with our talented teams and partners to further strengthen our market presence and deliver exceptional solutions to our clients.”

Brough’s new role is the latest in a series of appointments at Aspen. Last month, the company announced that it had tapped Mike Rastigue as vice president of cyber risk management and Robert Tartaglia as chief operations officer, insurance.
