Aspen selects international head of cyber

Key hire has a decade of experience in cyber underwriting

Aspen Insurance Holdings has announced the appointment of Edward Hart (pictured above) as international head of cyber.

Hart joined Aspen in February as a senior underwriter. In the short time he’s been at the company, he was able to expand distribution relationships, attract leading talent and provide invaluable insights that have shaped the group’s underwriting strategy.

In his new role, Hart will spearhead the advancement of the international cyber team, focusing on refining underwriting strategies and bolstering risk management capabilities. He will remain based in Aspen’s London office.

Hart has a decade of experience in cyber underwriting, honed through roles at Brit Insurance and Barbican Insurance Group. He maintains an Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) designation and holds an undergraduate degree in economics and management from the University of Leeds.

Bobby Bianconi, who leads the global cyber underwriting team as global head of cyber, expressed his enthusiasm about Hart’s promotion in an emailed news release.

“Ed’s promotion underscores Aspen’s deep bench strength as an industry leader of cyber insurance products and services, and further demonstrates Aspen’s commitment to growing this important business line and the integral part it plays in the FINPRO portfolio,” Bianconi said.

News of Hart’s appointment comes after Aspen named Tim Mardon as global head of property catastrophe reinsurance. Mardon joins the company from SiriusPoint and is set to assume his role on November 14.
