Ardonagh Specialty has announced the appointment of Patrick Rastiello (pictured above) as the CEO of its reinsurance operations in North America.

Rastiello brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having previously served as CEO and president of Accredited, where he successfully expanded the company’s premium run rate to over $1.1 billion. His leadership at Accredited focused on underwriting and growth strategies, marking a significant phase of development for the company.

Before his tenure at Accredited, Rastiello spent 24 years at Aon Reinsurance, where he was instrumental in founding the MGA practice group. This initiative grew to become one of the largest MGA brokers in the United States.

In his new role, Rastiello is set to collaborate closely with Nick Foden-Pattinson, the president of Ardonagh’s North American reinsurance division. Together with the Inver Re teams based in Bermuda and London, they aim to provide comprehensive solutions that span multiple jurisdictions for their clientele.

Reporting directly to Andrew Wallin, the CEO of Ardonagh Specialty, Rastiello will also be tasked with expanding the company’s US reinsurance footprint, spearheading strategic recruitment efforts, and driving business development with key clients.

“The US is the largest and most vibrant reinsurance market in the world. Pat is a pioneer of reinsurance broking and underwriting, and we’re proud to have him leading the charge,” Wallin said.
