APOLLO Insurance has announced the appointment of Mark Fujita as vice president of partnerships.

Fujita’s new role at the online insurance provider will see him propelling strategic business development through REITs and property management companies.

He will also spearhead the expansion of fully digital renters’ insurance programs tailored for multi-family landlords across Canada.

Fujita joins APOLLO after spending nearly six years as VP of business development at Sonnet Insurance. His responsibilities included formulating and executing growth strategies to attract and retain specific customer segments.

He also played a pivotal role in developing go-to-market strategies for novel products and services, identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships to enhance business value, foster revenue growth, and establish Sonnet’s digital brand.

Before his tenure at Sonnet, Fujita held roles at TD Insurance, Sun Life, Canada Life, and IBM.

APOLLO founder and CEO Jeff McCann welcomed Fujita to the team and said his addition will help “accelerate our growth in our partnerships division.”

“Now that we have built an end-to-end insurance compliance tool that integrates with existing property management workflows and tools, Mark is joining us at the perfect moment to help solve a real pain point for one of the largest segments of the Canadian economy,” said McCann.

Fujita also expressed enthusiasm to join a company “uniquely positioned in the Canadian market.”

“With our innovative approach to both technology and insurance, I’m excited to leverage my embedded insurance experience in the property management space,” he said.
