Digital insurance provider APOLLO Insurance has entered the pet insurance market via a partnership with Petline Insurance Company’s flagship brand Petsecure.

APOLLO founder and chief executive Jeff McCann noted: “Pets are an integral part of our customers’ lives, and unexpected vet costs can be crippling. With pet ownership steadily increasing in Canada and expected to reach 28.5 million pets in 2025, offering pet insurance alongside our core offering of tenant insurance will make the lives of Canadian pet owners easier.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Petsecure to provide our customers the peace of mind they can get their pets back to their happy, healthy selves without worrying about the financial burden of care, when treatment is needed.”

Petsecure offers comprehensive coverage that spans diagnostics, X-rays, hospital stays, surgeries, and medications, among others. Its plans are developed by veterinarians across Canada.

Petline’s Raegan Ahlbaum added: “APOLLO’s digital-first approach makes them an ideal partner for Petsecure. This partnership will bring pet insurance to more families, helping them invest in their pet’s health and wellbeing.”

McCann said in an earlier statement: “APOLLO and Century Group share the common goal of making it easier for residents to access insurance.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Century Group, a company that works hard to provide their residents with an exceptional rental experience. This partnership will allow an immediate digital solution for their tenants that will improve their resident experience and provide a simple solution for their property managers.”

“We are excited to partner with OVC Insurance,” Ahlbaum commented in June. “Their strength in the property and casualty insurance industry makes them the perfect match for us as we complement their offerings and provide pet health insurance protection to more pet owners in Quebec.”

Petline was the first licensed insurance company in Canada to focus solely on pet insurance.
