Aon boosts insurance support for small businesses

Partnership aims to help businesses address operational risks

Aon plc (Aon) has entered into a strategic partnership with Reckon, a provider of accounting and payroll solutions.

This collaboration is set to enhance the insurance offerings available to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across Australia. According to Aon, up to 57% of Australian SMBs may not have sufficient insurance coverage.

Closing insurance gap for SMEs

The partnership aims to bridge the insurance gap by connecting Reckon’s customer base with specialised insurance brokers. Customers will then gain personal insurance guidance, support in case of claims via the Reckon Customer Concierge, and a variety of educational resources. These include insightful articles and webinars dedicated to risk management and insurance optimisation.

Aon Affinity managing director Lisa Henderson outlined the firm’s commitment to small businesses.

“Aon is pleased to work with Reckon to assist in addressing the underserved needs of small business owners and give them the clarity and confidence to make better decisions to protect and grow their businesses,” she said. “All small businesses can be affected by operational risks and these can often have a big impact especially when also taking into account economic factors such as high interest rates and inflation. Making sure small businesses are adequately supported by the right insurance cover can help business owners focus on what they do best.”

Reckon CEO Sam Allert highlighted the importance of aligning with partners that mirror their commitment to customer-centric solutions.

“We understand that being a small business owner is a juggling act, and insurance might not always be a priority,” he said. “That’s why we’ve partnered with Aon to help small businesses focus on their needs and provide peace of mind.”
