Ames & Gough elevates three company veterans


Ames & Gough, an insurance broker and risk management consultant specializing in design professionals, law firms, associations/nonprofits and other professional services organizations, has announced the appointment of three new equity partners to the firm.

Allison Barefoot, Brian Lynch and Cady Sinks have been named equity partners. All three are based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. The appointments bring the number of equity partners at Ames & Gough to 16.

“Our strong growth and continued success over the years are based on our foundational commitment to our clients and the exceptional performance of our talented colleagues on their behalf,” said Matt Gough, president of Ames & Gough. “Allison, Brian and Cady have shown a passion for excellence in delivering client service, building new relationships and collaborating to drive results for clients under dynamic market conditions. I’m delighted to recognize their many contributions to our clients and our firm, and welcome them to our leadership team.”

Barefoot (pictured above left) has more than 20 years of brokerage experience. She joined Ames & Gough in 2013 and was appointed a vice president three years later. Prior to joining Ames & Gough, Barefoot spent 12 years with USI Insurance Services in positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in her appointment as commercial lines account executive and team leader. Barefoot holds a Certified Insurance Counselor designation.

Lynch (pictured above center) is an account executive with more than 12 years of industry experience. He joined Ames & Gough in 2017 and was named assistant vice president in 2020. Prior to joining Ames & Gough, Lynch served with insurance brokerages in Boston, where he was a member of the Boston Young Professionals, Cape Cod Youn Professionals and Falmouth Chamber of Commerce. Lynch was named one of IBA’s Top Specialist Brokers for 2021.

Sinks (pictured above right) is an account executive with more than 18 years of industry experience. She joined the company in 2016 and was named assistant vice president in 2020. Before joining Ames & Gough, Sinks served in risk management for a construction group. Before that, she spent nine years with Victor O. Schinnerer, where she held a variety of positions, ultimately serving as program manager for the company’s professional and pollution liability.
