Altamont Capital looks to grow insurance portfolio with addition of Ledger’s Brad Fischtrom

Private equity firm Altamont Capital Partners has added Brad Fischtrom, previously Chief Operating Officer of insurance technology (insurtech) and insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused company, Ledger Investing, as an Operating Partner with a focus on investments in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance space.

Fischtrom joins after almost four years with Ledger Investing, and will use his extensive industry experience and Altamont’s robust network of resources and capabilities in the insurance sector to strategically advise on P&C insurance investments.

He’s been working in the P&C insurance universe for more than two decades, with expertise in re/insurance risk and capital management, capital markets and ILS, underwriting, operations, finance, and also analytics.

Prior to Ledger, Fischtrom spent a decade with global insurer AIG in a variety of roles, ultimately becoming Chief Risk Officer for Global Commercial and North America P&C insurance. He also worked at Towers Watson (now WTW) for almost three years as a consultant, and spent more than four years with broker Aon as an Assistant Vice President.

Altamont expects Fischtrom’s appointment to assist with and build on its achievements investing in the insurance sector.

Since being founded in 2010, Altamont has made 10 insurance platform investments and completed over 75 add-on acquisitions, and has actually incubated a number of these companies from scratch.

In his new role, Fischtrom will work closely with the P&C companies across Altamont’s portfolio to apply his in-depth industry knowledge and help accelerate their respective value-creation plans, explains the firm.
