Allianz Trade in Asia Pacific has announced Carolyn Cheang’s appointment as regional marketing director, effective Feb. 1.

Based in Singapore, Cheang (pictured) will oversee operations across the Asia Pacific region. She succeeds Tricia Koh, who now serves as commercial director for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Who is Carolyn Cheang?

Cheang joined Allianz Trade in 2018 as marketing manager, focusing on servicing ASEAN countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. In 2021, she was promoted to regional marketing manager, expanding her responsibilities to cover the broader Asia Pacific region.

Cheang brings over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing to her new role and holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Curtin University.

“I am humbled and enthusiastic about this appointment to elevate our marketing initiatives in this growing region,” Cheang said. “With more than two decades of marketing experience, I am committed to leveraging my skills and dedication to contribute to the continued success of Allianz Trade in the dynamic markets of Asia Pacific. Together with my experienced marketing team, I look forward to bringing impactful campaigns that will resonate with our diverse audience as we embark on our organisation’s next phase of growth.”

Shan Aboo, regional commercial director for Asia Pacific at Allianz Trade, expressed satisfaction with Cheang’s appointment.

“We are thrilled to have Carolyn stepping into the role of regional marketing director, bringing with her a wealth of experience garnered over her tenure with our company. The Asia Pacific region is a vibrant market with diverse consumer preferences and evolving business landscapes. I have full confidence in Carolyn’s capabilities and arsenal of skills to lead our marketing team and endeavours in this region, which has witnessed significant growth in recent years,” he said.
