Closely after adding an NFP vet to its ranks to bolster real estate specialty, Alliant Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Tim Edwards as senior vice president to continue the practice’s expansion.

Within its Alliant Specialty group, Edwards will focus on the real estate & hospitality specialty segment, operating from New York.

Edwards will focus his efforts on structuring and managing large property insurance programs, including intricate shared and layered programs that cater to the real estate sector.

Bringing a decade’s worth of expertise from the property brokerage domain, Edwards has an extensive background in servicing the real estate industry, with a particular emphasis on multifamily dwellings, hospitality venues, and commercial office spaces. Before transitioning to brokerage, Edwards honed his skills in property underwriting roles.

His most recent role was as the West Coast property leader for NFP’s real estate group, where he was instrumental in advising and placing property programs for clients, ranging from annual deals to extensive advisory work spanning from March 2019 to March 2024.

Before his tenure at NFP, Edwards also served as senior vice president at JLT Specialty USA from November 2015 to March 2019, where he managed the placement and advisory of large property deals, focusing on real estate clients with property values ranging from $50 million to $5 billion.

Additionally, Edwards contributed his expertise to Marsh McLennan Companies as a property client advisor and senior vice president, from April 2014 to November 2015. In this role, he was a key player in brokering property insurance for some of the most significant and complex clients on the West Coast.

Earlier in his career, Edwards was a regional vice president at Arch Insurance Group, overseeing property insurance for the West Coast from July 2006 to April 2014. This role followed his initial industry experience as an account executive at AIG, where he began his professional journey in December 2003.

Michael Heid, executive vice president of Alliant Specialty, expressed high regard for Edwards’ addition to the team.

“Tim’s years of experience in placing and advising large, complex property deals, coupled with his customer-service driven approach, will add tremendous value to our Alliant Real Estate & Hospitality clients nationwide,” Heid said.
