IMA Financial Group’s Cornerstone Risk Solutions has brought in Hendrik “Hennie” Terblanche to serve as underwriting services director.
With more than two decades of leadership experience in the property and casualty insurance sector, Terblanche has a proven track record of building and maintaining high-caliber commercial insurance teams for multi-line, multinational products.
Before moving to the US in 2003, Terblanche accumulated substantial experience in South Africa, working as a producer and owning an independent P&C insurance agency. He then held various roles at ACE USA and AIG.
Most recently, Terblanche was strategic broker leader at AIG where he promoted strong collaboration between brokerage and underwriting teams, overseeing gross written premium of over $1 billion. His tenure at AIG also saw Terblanche serving as regional manager in the Midwest, heading the National Underwriting Center, and leading AIG WorldRisk as head of product.
“His expertise will undoubtedly enhance our ability to provide exceptional service and unique solutions to our clients.”
The business specializes in creating and managing group insurance programs.
Commenting on his appointment, Terblanche said: “Cornerstone excels in solving unique client risk and industry-specific challenges with customized insurance programs, technologies, and specialty niche solutions, which gives our team the opportunity to be on the leading edge of P&C development.
“The IMA family of companies’ innovative approach, client-first commitment, and long track record gives me full confidence that our team is built for success.”
A majority employee-owned and managed broker, IMA Financial Group has more than 2,400 associates in offices across the US.
