AIA New Zealand has announced hefty discounts on insurance premiums for customers in the first 12 months, as well as a chance to win part of $10,000 worth in AIA Vitality partner vouchers. This offer is part of the insurer’s efforts to promote financial wellbeing for Aotearoa, especially in this time of economic uncertainty.

AIA NZ chief partnership distribution officer Sharron Botica said that most New Zealanders will want to make savings where they can, and for that, the firm is offering up to 27% off insurance premiums in their first year.

“It’s great to see the latest FSC data which highlights people’s changing attitudes to financial risk. Having paid out more than half a billion dollars in life and health claims last year, we know firsthand the importance of adequate protection and ensuring the important things in life will be taken care of no matter what happens,” Botica said.

To take advantage of this discount, customers need to apply for a new eligible AIA policy between May 1 and June 30 and have the resulting policy issued by Aug. 31. When customers buy two or more eligible insurance policies with the insurer, they could start to access a discount on their premiums. If the customer adds AIA Vitality, they will also receive an initial 10% premium discount on eligible policies, for a total of 27% in the first 12 months.

For customers who added AIA Vitality by July 31, with either a new or existing policy, they will have a chance to win one of 20 partner vouchers worth $500 each. The partners include Airpoints, Countdown New Balance, and Samsung.

“Underinsurance remains a very real problem in this country, and we want to do everything we can to help change that. We hope with this offer, we can help our advisers in their client conversations and ultimately motivate more New Zealanders to get covered and protected,” Botica said.
