Acrisure Re adds reinsurance investments specialist Orloff

Acrisure Re, the reinsurance broking unit of the Acrisure group has hired Alex Orloff as a Managing Director of its Acrisure corporate advisory and solutions division (ARCAS) North America, who brings experience in reinsurance investing, insurance-linked securities (ILS) and investment analytics.

Alex Orloff worked in the insurance-linked investing market for a time at Twelve Capital, where he developed analytics related to debt and equity investments for the ILS and reinsurance fund manager’s portfolio.

Orloff joins Acrisure Re as Managing Director, ARCAS North America, today and will be based in New York and report to Ben Canagaretna, ARCAS Managing Director.

Orloff will lead the ARCAS North American arm, overseeing and building a team for strategic and ratings advisory, capital raising, legacy transactions and asset management.

He will also collaborate with ARCAS colleagues in London and with Acrisure Re colleagues on a variety of mandates and strategic initiatives.

He joins joins ARCAS from BMS Capital Advisory, where he held the role of Director of Capital Market Analytics for three years.

Before that he founded an investment research company, that worked with private issuers and investors in the US insurance industry.

Prior to which, Orloff held senior positions at ILS and reinsurance investment manager Twelve Capital, Credit Suisse, and Lazard Asset Management.
