AA Insurance has announced the appointment of Angela Nash as its new digital, data and technology general manager, beginning in August.

Nash comes from New Zealand Rugby and New Zealand Rugby Commercial, where she currently holds the role of chief information and technology officer. In this role, she is responsible for the organisations’ technology strategy and digital transformation programs.

Before her tenure at New Zealand Rugby, Nash worked in several executive technology and leadership roles at Spark, Datacom, Qual IT, and REANNZ. According to her LinkedIn, she received her BA in information systems from Massey University and a postgraduate certificate in management studies from the University of Waikato. She is also an accredited business mentor for Business Mentors New Zealand.

In a news release, AA Insurance CEO Michelle James praised Nash’s expertise and said that she will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this new role.

“Digital technology plays an important role in the lives of our customers and the trusted relationships we have with them, and it’s a key pillar of our strategy,” James said. “Angela’s impressive track record and expertise in this space will help us achieve what we’re setting out to do – create more great experiences for customers now and into the future.”

A few weeks ago, the insurer also announced the return of its Big Little sponsorship program, which will award two schools with $10,000 in grants for their respective school sports.
