Intact Financial Corporation is opening a new partner-operated service centre in Fort William First Nation.

The P&C insurer has teamed up with Pelletier’s Autobody to establish its first centre on First Nation territory, providing customers in the region with a more streamlined option for auto claim repairs.

“Our Intact Service Centre model is part of our approach to simplify the repair and claims process to get customers back on track as quickly as possible,” said Intact Canada CEO Louis Gagnon.

“The Pelletiers are trusted vendors with strong ties within the community. Through this partnership, we’re able to expand on our service centre model, strengthen local business, and improve the customer experience in the region.”

Pelletier’s Autobody is a third-generation family business that began operating in 1977. As Intact’s partner, the shop will continue to run under the purview of current owner and operator Roy Pelletier.

Commenting on the deal, Pelletier said their work with Intact could help pave the way for future partnerships between corporations and the Indigenous community.

“The opening of this service centre is a proud moment for our family and Fort William First Nation, Thunder Bay, and Northwestern Ontario,” he said.

“We see this partnership as an exciting opportunity that helps break down barriers and paves the way for future business between corporations and the Indigenous community. Partnering with Intact proves it’s possible to open minds while improving supply chains and the customer experience.”
