Steadfast Group (Steadfast), Australasia’s biggest brokerage network, has bolstered its support for First Nations peoples through a partnership with Bandu.
Founded by Edward Morgan and Wiradjuri Man Aidan Porter, Bandu provides support and resources to young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people looking to begin tertiary study and a career after high school. It provides funding for accommodation and short-term living expenses, to wellbeing and mental health assistance.
Partnership
The partnership will see Bandu run cultural safety sessions for Steadfast staff and provide guidance and advice to the group’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee. Meanwhile, Steadfast will onboard a Bandu participant within the business.
Robert Kelly, founder, managing director, and CEO of Steadfast, said the partnership aligns with Steadfast RAP’s innovate phase, which aims to build relationships and find new ways to have a lasting impact on the wellbeing of First Nations peoples.
“It’s been heartening to see and hear the ways Bandu embarks on the journey alongside their participants during one of the most challenging and exciting life stages,” Kelly said. “The team cares about empowering young First Nations people every step of the way, and this is an ethos we’re delighted to support. By working together, Bandu will also help us deepen and enrich our understanding of First Nations people, culture, and history.”
Edward Morgan, founder and managing director of Bandu, added: “It is exciting to be able to offer our young participants the opportunity to join a professional workplace that is also a culturally safe and caring community.”
