Chubb has announced dual appointments for key positions in its Asia businesses, with Kenny Tan tapped as the new chief operating officer for Malaysia and Janice Mo (pictured) as country president for general insurance in Korea.

In his new role, Tan will be responsible for developing and implementing Chubb’s strategy across the country. He will also spearhead the transformation and growth of the agency business channel and enhance the company’s operational capabilities.

Tan comes to the role with more than eight years of experience in insurance, both in the US and Malaysia. His first 12 years in the industry was spent in actuarial and senior management roles in the US before finally arriving at one of Malaysia’s largest general insurers.

“I am delighted that Kenny has joined us in this crucial role,” said Steve Crouch, Chubb Malaysia country president. “His extensive experience and impressive track record in the insurance industry will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our competitive position in the market. I have every confidence that his outstanding financial acumen, combined with his strong leadership and execution skills, will further strengthen our position as a leading general insurer in Malaysia.”

Mo currently serves as SVP for property & casualty, claims and corporate strategy for Chubb Korea. In her new role as country head for general insurance, she will be responsible for the firm’s performance across the country.

“Janice is a seasoned insurance professional with a proven track record of successfully driving businesses to deliver sustainable and profitable growth,” said Paul MacNamee, Chubb Asia Pacific regional president. “Our local operations globally – a defining Chubb strength – benefit from our capacity and commitment to recognise and promote talent within the organisation. Janice is well positioned to lead the continued growth, transformation, and innovation across our general insurance business in Korea.”
